Minor Trauma

Minor trauma involves a physical injury that may not be serious enough to require a visit to the emergency room. That's where urgent care centers come in.

Physical trauma can happen with:

  • Blunt force - when an object or force strikes the body. It can cause lacerations/cuts, broken bones, concussions or contusions/bruises.

  • Penetrating - when an object pierces the skin or body, creating an open wound.

Common minor trauma injuries include:

  • sprains and strains

  • broken bones

  • minor head injuries

  • minor eye injuries

  • injuries to the back, shoulder and chest
